Here are some Frequently Asked Questions answers to questions you may have toward an extended warranty purchase.

Q: Why should you consider the purchase of an extended warranty?

A: Labor costs for electronics repair run between $45 and $90 per hour! This does not even include the cost of any replacement parts that may be necessary. The cost of an extended warranty is usually only a fraction of what you would pay for a repair.

Q: What is an extended service plan, and why do I need one?

A: Every new product comes from the manufacturer with a basic warranty that states the manufacturer will repair or replace most parts of the product in the event of a malfunction for a limited amount of time. Once the manufacturer's warranty expires, there is nothing to protect you from expensive repairs. Extended Warranty coverage is protection against the increasing cost of repairs after the manufacturer's warranty has expired. With a TopDJGear Extended Warranty policy, if the product can't be repaired, we will replace it.

Q: When do the plans begin?

A: The Extended Warranty policy begins as soon as the "labor" portion of the original manufacturer's warranty expires.

PRODUCT ELIGIBILITY, COVERAGE AND TERM

This Plan covers products purchased as new and manufactured for use in the United States, which at the time of purchase included the manufacturer's original written warranty valid in the United States. In order to be eligible for a Plan, the manufacturer's original warranty must provide at least 90 days parts and labor coverage and have a minimum of 30 days still active under the manufacturer's original parts and labor warranty. This Plan covers all mechanical and electrical defects that would normally be covered by the original manufacturer's written warranty, unless otherwise stated in the Exclusions section. Coverage only applies to products used non-commercially. Coverage under this Plan shall commence immediately upon the expiration of the manufacturer's original parts and labor written warranty. If the manufacturer's warranty has a split-warranty coverage (a split-warranty exists when there is uneven coverage for parts and labor), this Plan shall commence at the time the shortest portion of the manufacturer's warranty expires. This Plan will furnish labor and replacement parts necessary to maintain your covered product in good operating condition as specified in the terms of this Plan. If service is needed because of product failure during normal usage, TopDJGear has the option to repair or replace the defective product with a product of like kind and quality. A replacement part may be new or reconditioned of like kind and quality and may cost less than the original product purchased. No charges or refunds will be made based on the replacement product cost difference. Technological advances may result in a replacement product with a lower selling price than the original product. The most we will pay on any single repair or replacement is the price you paid for the product. If we replace the product in its entirety with a product of like kind and quality, our maximum liability has been met under this contract and there will no longer be coverage under the terms of this contract. However, this will not apply to products that have been classed as a "lemon" by the manufacturer or by TopDJGear. Replacement products will include a manufacturer's warranty and you have the option to purchase an additional extended service contract on the replaced product. If the product is not repairable and a replacement product is not available, we will refund to you the product purchase price and this contract will be invalid and all obligations satisfied. You may be required to ship or deliver the defective product prior to receiving reimbursement or a replacement product.

IF YOUR PRODUCT NEEDS REPAIR

• If your product needs repair for mechanical or electrical defects, you are required to call 1-888-998-6735 to obtain authorization prior to having repairs made. For faster service, please have your dated proof of product purchase (sales receipt) available when you place the call. If your equipment is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, you may be directed to call the manufacturer prior to being referred to a service center. All repairs must be approved before they are performed.
• Do not return the product to your TopDJGear unless instructed to do so by TopDJGear. A Return Authorization number is required for repairs and returns on this Extended Warranty Service Plan. Any product returned without proper authorization will be refused.
• When you receive authorization for repairs, your service representative will direct you to ship the malfunctioning product back to TopDJGear. You may either return your product in person or ship it (postage pre-paid and insured) to Top DJ Gear. A copy of the proof of product purchase (sales receipt), and a brief written description of the problem must accompany the product.
• Items must be returned in original box and packaging.
